Our Lady of Lourdes – Laminated Catholic Holy Card with Prayer

In a quiet grotto beside the River Gave, a young girl knelt to gather firewood—and encountered a Lady dressed in white. This Our Lady of Lourdes laminated holy card honors one of the most beloved Marian devotions in the Catholic Church. Featuring a devotional image of Our Lady of Lourdes on the front and a prayer to Our Lady on the reverse, the card offers a simple, enduring way to seek the Blessed Virgin Mary’s intercession and keep the message of Lourdes close at hand.

The devotion traces its origins to 1858, when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette Soubirous at the grotto of Massabielle near Lourdes, France. During a series of apparitions, Bernadette was called to prayer and penance, and a spring emerged at the grotto that would become inseparably associated with the sanctuary.

When Bernadette asked the Lady her name, she eventually received the words that would become one of the defining moments of Lourdes:

“I am the Immaculate Conception.”

Since those apparitions, generations of pilgrims have journeyed to Lourdes carrying petitions for healing, consolation, conversion, and peace. The sanctuary has become one of the world’s great Catholic pilgrimage destinations, while devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes has found a place in churches, hospitals, homes, and bedside prayers far beyond France.

This compact holy card provides a convenient way to continue that devotion wherever prayer is needed. The prayer on the reverse may be offered for personal intentions or for the needs of family, friends, the sick, and those seeking the maternal intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Its laminated construction helps protect the card from regular handling, making it suitable for carrying in a Bible, missal, prayer book, purse, or wallet. It can also be placed beside a home altar, statue, or bedside as a quiet reminder to entrust one’s needs to God through Mary’s prayers.

Especially meaningful for those praying for the sick or suffering, this Our Lady of Lourdes holy card also makes a thoughtful devotional gift for Marian feast days, parish ministries, hospital and nursing-home visits, prayer groups, sacramental occasions, and anyone with a particular devotion to the Blessed Mother.

A grotto. A spring. A young saint upon her knees.

And a message of prayer and hope that continues to draw hearts to Lourdes.
