Monstrance with Removable Luna (B) – 24kt Gold-Plated Brass

Gothic-Inspired Beauty for Eucharistic Adoration

Rich in traditional ecclesiastical detail, the Monstrance with Removable Luna (B) offers a dignified setting for the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Crafted from brass with 24kt gold plating, this 15-inch monstrance features an ornate Gothic-inspired design, elevated central viewing area, sculpted pedestal, and crowning cross. Its architectural form recalls the soaring lines and intricate ornamentation of historic Catholic churches, making it a beautiful sacred appointment for Eucharistic Adoration, Benediction, parish chapels, convents, monasteries, and other Catholic worship settings.

Designed for the Blessed Sacrament

At the heart of the monstrance is a gold-plated removable luna designed to hold the consecrated Host during Eucharistic exposition. The central circular opening is surrounded by elaborate detailing that naturally draws the eye toward the Eucharist. The luna accommodates a Host measuring approximately 1-1/8″ to 3″ in diameter, providing flexibility for parish and chapel use. A hinged back door allows convenient access to the luna while maintaining the ornate appearance of the front of the vessel.

Removable Luna & Reliquary Function

This sacred vessel offers a distinctive dual-purpose design. With the gold-plated luna installed, it serves as a traditional Catholic monstrance for exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. When the luna is removed, the vessel is designed to serve as a reliquary, making it a versatile addition to a parish or religious community’s collection of sacred appointments.

Traditional Gothic Ecclesiastical Design

Standing approximately 15 inches high, this monstrance has a taller and more architectural presence than smaller tabletop styles. Its design features pointed Gothic forms, intricate ornamental detailing, slender vertical elements, and a prominent cross rising above the central opening. An elaborately decorated pedestal transitions into a broad, stable base, completing its traditional church aesthetic. The 24kt gold-plated brass construction gives the vessel a luminous appearance appropriate to the solemnity and dignity of its sacred purpose.

For Eucharistic Adoration & Benediction

The monstrance is among the most recognizable sacred vessels associated with Catholic devotion to the Eucharist. During exposition, it allows the consecrated Host to be visibly presented for the prayer and adoration of the faithful. The combination of its ornate Gothic styling, 15-inch stature, removable luna, and 24kt gold-plated finish makes this vessel particularly appropriate for parish sanctuaries, Eucharistic adoration chapels, religious houses, retreat centers, and other sacred spaces.

Care Instructions

Because this monstrance features a 24kt gold-plated finish, gentle handling and conservative cleaning are important to preserving its appearance. Cleaning & Polishing: Dust regularly using a clean, soft cotton or microfiber cloth. When deeper cleaning is required, use a small amount of mild soap with lukewarm water and dry the surface immediately. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, aggressive metal polishes, and vigorous rubbing that could damage or gradually wear the gold plating.

Protecting the Finish: Limit prolonged exposure to humidity, direct sunlight, and corrosive or acidic substances. Handle the vessel with clean, dry hands whenever possible to reduce fingerprints and surface oils.

Storage: When not in use, keep the monstrance in a clean, dry, protected location. Avoid contact with other metal objects or hard surfaces that could scratch the detailed ornamentation or plated finish.

With careful handling and appropriate maintenance, this beautifully appointed monstrance can retain its brilliance for years of reverent service.
