Alb

A rectangular white linen liturgical vestment worn around the shoulders and neck beneath the alb when the alb does not adequately cover ordinary clothing. It is one of the traditional vestments of the Roman Rite.

The principal outer liturgical vestment worn by a priest when celebrating Mass. Worn over the alb and stole, its color ordinarily corresponds to the liturgical day or season and it traditionally symbolizes charity.

A cord or band worn around the waist over the alb when needed to secure it. In traditional symbolism it is associated with chastity and readiness for liturgical service.
