A form of prayer characterized by loving, receptive attention to God. Catholic spiritual theology distinguishes contemplation from discursive meditation while recognizing continuity between them. Infused contemplation is understood as a gift of grace in which God draws the soul into a deeper, simple awareness of his presence and love.
