Miraculous Medal Blue Glass Bead Rosary and Box – Made in Italy – 16″

A Rosary is a simple thing to hold. A few beads. A crucifix. A medal. Yet within those beads lies a journey through the Gospel—from the quiet of Nazareth to Bethlehem, from the roads of Galilee to Calvary, and from the empty tomb toward the glory of heaven.

This Miraculous Medal Rosary and Box brings that enduring Catholic prayer together with one of the Church’s most beloved Marian sacramentals. Made in Italy, the set features a 16-inch Rosary with blue glass beads accompanied by a coordinating blue Miraculous Medal box, creating a beautiful devotional set for personal prayer, sacramental occasions, and Catholic gift giving. The story of the Miraculous Medal begins in Paris in 1830 with Saint Catherine Labouré, a young Daughter of Charity who reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. During one vision, Catherine saw Mary with rays of light streaming from her hands. Surrounding her appeared the invocation:

“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”

Catherine understood that a medal should be made according to the design she had been shown. Its reverse incorporated additional Christian and Marian imagery, including the letter M beneath the Cross, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and twelve stars. The medal spread rapidly throughout the Catholic world and became popularly known as the Miraculous Medal.

Catholics do not regard the medal as a magical charm. As a sacramental, it serves as an outward reminder of faith, prayer, and confidence in God’s grace while encouraging devotion to Mary and trust in her intercession. Authentic Marian devotion always leads beyond Mary toward the center of the Christian faith: Jesus Christ. The Miraculous Medal is therefore a natural companion to the Holy Rosary. Through the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries, the Rosary invites the faithful to contemplate the life, ministry, Passion, death, and Resurrection of Christ in the company of His Mother.

The blue glass beads give this Rosary a luminous Marian character. Blue has long been associated with the Blessed Virgin in Catholic sacred art, while glass provides a smooth, substantial feel as each bead passes through the fingers during prayer. At approximately 16 inches long, this version offers a larger format than more compact Rosaries while remaining convenient for personal devotion and storage in its accompanying box. The coordinating blue Miraculous Medal box provides the Rosary with a dedicated place between prayers while also creating an attractive presentation for gift giving. Together, the blue glass beads and Marian box make the set especially fitting for anyone with a devotion to the Blessed Virgin or Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Its Made in Italy origin further complements the traditional Catholic character of the set.

This Rosary and box make a meaningful gift for First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Baptism, OCIA or RCIA reception, Marian feast days, Mother’s Day, birthdays, and other Catholic occasions. It is equally suitable as a first Rosary, an everyday prayer Rosary, or an addition to a collection of Catholic devotional articles. The box holds the beads. The hands hold the Rosary. And through every mystery, Mary leads the heart toward the One she carried first in her own arms: Jesus Christ.
