A sharing or participation in a common life. In Catholic usage, the term may refer to ecclesial communion within the Body of Christ or, especially, to receiving the consecrated Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist. Full ecclesial communion includes unity in faith, sacraments, and Church governance.
