The regular exercise of the Church’s teaching office by the pope and bishops in communion with him. Its teachings require different kinds of assent according to their authority; when the bishops dispersed throughout the world agree definitively on a matter of faith or morals, the ordinary and universal Magisterium can teach infallibly.
