Veneration

Religious honor given to saints, relics, or sacred images in recognition of God’s grace at work in them. Veneration is essentially different from adoration, or latria, which is due to God alone. Catholic tradition accords a unique, higher veneration to the Blessed Virgin Mary, commonly called hyperdulia.
