The liturgical season that begins the Church year and prepares the faithful for the celebration of Christ’s Nativity while also directing attention toward his coming in glory. In the Roman Rite, Advent begins with First Vespers of the Sunday falling on or nearest November 30 and ends before Christmas Eve Mass.
