A blessing. In common Catholic usage, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament is a liturgical devotion in which the Eucharist is exposed for adoration and the faithful are blessed with the consecrated Host, ordinarily by a priest or deacon, according to the Church’s liturgical norms.
