Confirmation

One of the three sacraments of Christian initiation. Through anointing with sacred chrism, the laying on of hands, and the prescribed sacramental words, the baptized receive a special strengthening of the Holy Spirit, are more firmly united to Christ and the Church, and are empowered to witness to the faith.
