The Sunday beginning Holy Week, formally called Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord in the Roman Rite. Its liturgy commemorates Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem and proclaims the account of his Passion, joining royal acclamation with the solemn remembrance of his suffering and death.
